    Vendor/Solicitor License

    Any person or business entity conducting a business within the city without a fixed location or place of business is a solicitor. This includes all door-to-door sales persons and any agent or representative doing business by calling in person upon potential customers, without appointment, for retail sales.

    Any person or business establishing a place of business in the City on a temporary basis is considered an itinerant vendor. The term shall include:
    • All roadside sales locations located in or on rights-of-way;
    • Outdoor sales booths;
    • Set ups;
    • Tailgate sales;
    • Truckload sales and tent sales;
    • All door-to-door sales locations, all sales from “moving vehicles”;
    • Auctions, either private or public; and
    • All indoor sales of a temporary nature not conducted in a retail establishment.

    Solicitors and itinerant vendors must first obtain approval from the city to conduct and/or establish a place of business in the City of Bryan.

    Credit Access Business Registration

    Businesses designated as a credit access business (defined by Section 393.601 of the Texas Finance Code) must register annually with the City of Bryan.

    Manufactured Housing Land Lease Community License

    Manufactured housing land lease communities created on or after Jan. 1, 2000, must apply annually for license renewals.

    Contractor and Sub-Contractor Registration

    In the City of Bryan contractors and sub-contractors must register annually to be able to apply for permits. You can register with the city as the following contractor types:
    • Building Contractor
    • Plumbing Contractor
    • Mechanical Contractor
    • Electrical Contractor
    • Irrigation Contractor
    • Sign Contractor – Electrical
    • Sign Contractor – No Electrical

    Certain construction trades require licensing through the State of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

    Public Infrastructure Contractor Registration

    Public Infrastructure contractor registration applies to contractors hired by: 
    • the City of Bryan to construct public infrastructure;
    • private developers to construct privately funded infrastructure projects that are inspected, accepted by, and ultimately maintained by the city;
    • priate utility companies to work in public rights-of-way, public easements, or alleyways;
    • private property owners or property management companies to construct private facilities in public rights-of-ways, public easements, or alleyways.

    Homebuilder Incentive Program Application

    This City of Bryan program offers incentives to homebuilders to construct residential homes in the target range of 2,000 to 3,000 square feet of heated and cooled area within the Bryan city limits.

    The program waives fees associated with new home construction. If your application is approved, you will be eligible to have certain fees waived including:
    • Water and sewer tap fees for up to 30 homes
    • Building permit fees for an unlimited number of homes

    Homebuilders who desire to apply for the city’s Homebuilder Incentive Program must use this portal to begin the application process.
