The Building Division reviews project plans, issues permits, and provides inspection services for compliance of California's building, fire, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy, and disabled access codes, as well as city ordinances, for all new and existing buildings in the city. We respond to citizen concerns regarding illegal construction and substandard (living or dwelling) conditions as outlined in the International Property Maintenance Code.
The Engineering Division ensures all construction in the public right-of-way related to land development entitlements comply with adopted codes and engineering standards.
