TYPES OF PERMIT APPLICATIONS

    Access and Drainage Permit

    If your property is accessed by a County-maintained road, this permit will be required in addition to your building or waste water permits. Contact the Public Works Department for more information.

    Home Occupation Permit

    A home occupation is a use within a primary dwelling or in an attached or detached structure that is carried on by residents for gain. This use is merely incidental to the residential use and does not change the character thereof by display or otherwise. Contact the Planning and Zoning Unit for more information.

    Preliminary Code Review

    The preliminary code review process provides assistance to anyone seeking to develop, improve or rehabilitate a commercial use property in the unincorporated areas of Yavapai County. It enables the various county departments and other applicable jurisdictions to review proposed development applications and provide timely feedback and direction for the property before detailed design and construction drawings are submitted.

      Residential Building Permit

      All residential one-and-two-family new dwellings, remodels, additions, alterations,  and accessory structure projects. Get started by reviewing the submittal requirrements.

        Right of Way Permit

        Any encroachment into a County-maintained right of way requires a permit from the Public Works Department. Contact the Public Works Department for more information.

          Sewage Collection Line Extensions

          Yavapai County has delegation from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) to implement the Subdivision Certificate of Sanitary Facilities approval process including extensions of water and sewer lines.When projects are received by the Development Services-Environmental Unit they will be reviewed for completeness, payment processed, and sent to a contracted review engineer for the technical review to determine conformance with ADEQ adopted rules.           Temporary Dwelling/Office Permit

          Occupancy of temporary housing, including travel trailers, recreational vehicles, park models and single-wide manufactured homes during the construction of a permanent dwelling (site built or manufactured/factory-built) is allowed during the twenty-four (24) month period after the issuance of a building permit (and the building permit remains valid). A permit must be obtained prior to occupancy of the temporary housing. This permit cannot be applied for until a permit is issued for the primary residence.           Waste Water System Permit

          You must have a permit to construct a septic system (Conventional or Alternative).  Environmental Services is responsible for regulating the installation of alternative on-site wastewater disposal systems. If you are planning to construct a new septic system, you may need to arrange for a site inspection (perc test) to determine suitability for a septic system on your property.
