New Release Sneak Peek!

Watch this video for a Sneak Peek at the Citizenserve New Release! We show some highly configured features for a large city in the North east. They asked for quick entry and automation for their permitting and rental inspection processes.

First Demo Scenario - Building Permits

First we submitted a building permit through our citizen portal. The portal is in queue for some updates related to the new release! Expect more posts about this soon. Next, we logged in as a staff member to process the permit in the new release! Check out the updated layout and note the cool metrics on Morgan's dashboard. We'll post more videos about all of the new features in the new release soon!. We used the more information button to open the permit from within the review activity - this is a great shortcut! The user reviews the application for missing items, then clicks the browser tab for the review activity to make notes. We edited a library common comment that a site plan was missing and the system sent an automated message to the applicant when the activity was closed.

Then, back at the citizen portal - we reviewed the email and returned to the portal to upload the missing site plan. Did you know that activities on the portal notifies staff, so you never miss updates from your constituents?

Next, as staff, we check the online modification notice and approve the permit. Then, as the applicant, we pay for the permit and receive a copy in our inbox. We can also view our permit in the portal. Then we used the Request an Inspection feature.

To address the demo script provided to us, we showed:
- how easy it is for a portal user to change their information
- discussed how to update property representatives on a project
- viewed the property file
- use the search feature to find actively licensed tradespeople
- shrank and expanded the window size to show off the portal's responsive design
- translated the portal into multiple languages.

Second Demo Scenario - Certificate of Occupancy Inspections

The next scenario asked us to quickly add 2 violations to 3 units and a common area in a multi-unit rental. We built a quick entry table using a feature only available in the New Release - called a custom table within a table (or CUT). The CUT allows an inspector to enter as many rows of data as needed, and data in the CUT can be logged as text, check box, search, drop down, etc.
