Online Permit Applications
Eliminate incomplete applications, paper forms, and lines at your permit counter with the citizenserve online portal.
Applying for a permit is easy with the citizenserve online portal. Through your portal you can provide access to all your electronic services. In the permitting section your frequent applicants can jump right into applying for a permit. Additional information is also available for those that aren't as familiar with your permitting process. You can guide your applicants through the permitting process with step by step instructions. First your applicants can find out if they need a permit by clicking the do you need a permit link. You can customize this page to list information relevant to the permitting requirements in your municipality.
Next the applicant can find out what information and documents will be required with their permit application. With citizenserve you can create custom submittal documents for each permit type with drill down links to see additional information. The applicant will be directed to login if they have already registered on your site, or they can register now to set up a new account. Registration is easy! Select a registration type and enter basic information and select a username and password. Once the applicant is registered they can now apply for permits online.
To begin the application process select the permit type and subtype. Once the subtype is selected "Submit All Required Documents" will be displayed again giving the applicant the opportunity to view submittal requirements if needed. We'll enter a work description and indicate if this is a new or existing project. Once the address has been entered it will be validated against your parcel data and pull in parcel related data such as the permit number and property owner. Next the applicant will see custom fields related to your permit type. All of these fields can be modified, removed, or additional fields can be added. In this example we'll select the number of structures to be built on this project and we'll enter the occupancy type, construction type, square footage, and estimated construction cost. Next we'll select a licensed contractor for this project. Begin by typing in the contractor name and all matching contractors with their associated license will be listed. Finally we'll enter some documents. You can set your permit applications up to have as many different types of documents required as you need. We'll select a site plan, a cost affidavit, and plot plan. The applicant can either hit submit to submit their application or save it for later where they can come back at a later time to modify or complete their permit application.
Once they click Submit fees will be calculated and displayed for this permit. Through citizenserve you can configure payment options. You can collect only the plan check fees upfront or all permit fees if you'd like. The applicant will enter cardholder information and click Submit to pay and apply for their permit. And that's how easy it is to apply for a permit online with citizenserve.
