New Release Sneak Peek!

Watch this video for a Sneak Peek at the Citizenserve New Release! We show some highly configured features for a large city in the North east. They asked for quick entry and automation for their permitting and rental inspection processes.

First Demo Scenario - Building Permits

First we submitted a building permit through our citizen portal. The portal is in queue for some updates related to the new release! Expect more posts about this soon. Next, we logged in as a staff member to process the permit in the new release! Check out the updated layout and note the cool metrics on Morgan's dashboard. We'll post more videos about all of the new features in the new release soon!. We used the more information button to open the permit from within the review activity - this is a great shortcut! The user reviews the application for missing items, then clicks the browser tab for the review activity to make notes. We edited a library common comment that a site plan was missing and the system sent an automated message to the applicant when the activity was closed.

Then, back at the citizen portal - we reviewed the email and returned to the portal to upload the missing site plan. Did you know that activities on the portal notifies staff, so you never miss updates from your constituents?

Next, as staff, we check the online modification notice and approve the permit. Then, as the applicant, we pay for the permit and receive a copy in our inbox. We can also view our permit in the portal. Then we used the Request an Inspection feature.

To address the demo script provided to us, we showed:
- how easy it is for a portal user to change their information
- discussed how to update property representatives on a project
- viewed the property file
- use the search feature to find actively licensed tradespeople
- shrank and expanded the window size to show off the portal's responsive design
- translated the portal into multiple languages.

Second Demo Scenario - Certificate of Occupancy Inspections

The next scenario asked us to quickly add 2 violations to 3 units and a common area in a multi-unit rental. We built a quick entry table using a feature only available in the New Release - called a custom table within a table (or CUT). The CUT allows an inspector to enter as many rows of data as needed, and data in the CUT can be logged as text, check box, search, drop down, etc.

Digital Community Development Software Massachusetts

Citizenserve is cloud-based digital community development software. We offer permitting, planning and zoning, licensing, request tracking, and code enforcement solutions. In this video, you can watch a demonstration of some of our software's functionality.

Submit a Digital Community Development (Building Permit) Application

First, a contractor Registers for a Portal Account. Then they submit a building permit online. Portal users can edit their applications, make payments, send messages, and request inspections through the Online Citizen Portal.

Review the Community Development Application

After submission, we log in as staff and review the home page. Staff can easily tweak their home page to show the tools they need. The application is automatically routed to staff for review. And as a result, they can approve it or send it back for more information. Here are some more cool software features:
- Each application can have its own workflow route.
- Supports consecutive or concurrent reviews.
- Select common phrases from the Comment Library.
- Add manual comments, send emails, and upload documents to the system.
- Add shapes, comments, and calculate measurements with the Document Markup tool.
- System conditions warn or stop staff from going rogue.

Once approved, Staff issue the permit. The contractor prints the permit and requests an inspection through the portal.

Digital Planning and Zoning Module

The Planning and Zoning module uses the same tools as a building permit. In addition, our workflows can manage design review meetings, city council meetings, and public hearings. As a result, we can generate meeting agendas and minutes from the database.

Digital Code Enforcement Module

Citizens can also submit code complaints through the citizen portal. Complaints are sent to staff for review. Once confirmed, the staff creates a code case for a junk vehicle and overgrown weeds. Citizenzserve also integrates with GIS systems to display GIS layers on a map. The Code Officer has full access to our cloud-based software in the field. They can add violations, take or upload photos, and produce letters using any browser-enabled device. Want to see more on our code enforcement module? Check out this demo on Cloud Based Online Code Enforcement.

Digital Health Inspections

Health inspections are usually tied to a health license. The inspection can be a required step for license approval and renewal. We will configure your inspection forms to track all required data. Then we'll create reports that display that data in the format you need. To learn more about our health licensing features, check out this live demo on Helath Licensing Software Enforcement Ticket.

Online Permitting and Code Enforcement Software

In today's demo, you’ll see example of citizenserve’s online permitting and code enforcement software. Citizenserve offers online solutions for Permitting, Licensing, Development Projects, Code Enforcement and Request Tracking. Watch as I submit a building permit application through the citizen portal. Then, I'll review the application to show what contractors, business owners, and citizens see when they submit an application. Next, we'll jump into the staff side of Citizenserve and perform the review activities required to approve and issue the permit.

Online Permitting Review Tools

Citizenserve offers many tools to support online permits, such as the Common Comments Book and the Document Markup Tool. Frequently cited comments are complied into an easy to use list called the Common Comments Book. Include these comments in communications to the applicant, or comment sheets to staff. Add shapes and comments to our site plans using the integrated Document Markup Tool. Include any comments in communication to the applicant or staff.

Citizenserve supports both consecutive and concurrent reviews. We'll configure your workflow to reflect your actual process. Each permit can have it's own workflow and set of required submittal documents. We'll work with you during project implementation to configure your permit applications and workflows.

Citizenserve also supports application changes and resubmission, plus it offers tools to help you communicate with the applicant. Resubmittals go through additional review routes, then approve and issue the permit.

It's easy to request an inspection with Citizenserve. Contractors submit the requests through the portal, and inspectors complete the inspection activity in the field. Citizenserve offers a central view of inspection data and history.

Once all inspections are completed, we final the permit and generate a certificate of occupancy.

Online Code Enforcement Software

Next, we delve into the Code Enforcement module of citizenserve. Citizens submit complaints and requests in the Citizen Portal. Citizenserve routes complaints and requests to the appropriate person or department. Working remotely, Inspectors can upload photographs and add violations to the inspection activity. It's also easy to schedule follow up activities and create notices and citations in the field.

Online Building Permit Software

This video is a live demo recording of Citizenserve's online building permit software. We prepared it to answer specific questions about our software's general features and the Building Permit process in response to a formal RFP from an East Coast city.

Citizen Portal Overview

The portal is built for your citizens. In addition to Online Building Permit Software, we offer modules for Business Licensing, Development Projects, Code Enforcement, and Request Tracking. We configure your portal to display only the services you want to offer. With helpful features like file search, reports, and content pages devoted to your services. The portal offers citizens everything they need to know about your processes. Moreover, with a built-in chat feature, our support staff answers your citizens' questions online. Built with HTML5 responsive design, the site content displays on any size screen in a logical way. This is important because you can't dictate how your users come to your site.

Citizenserve Staff Side Overview

Our cloud-based software is device and browser-independent. So there is no software to download and no plug-ins to manage. We'll configure a dashboard of tools for each municipal subscriber. The tools help you manage Tasks and appointments, monitor important processes through dashboard metrics, and easily navigate between project tabs. We also offer a robust search feature that allows you to search for contacts, files, or property records.

During your initial site build, we configure your workflow routes. We support both concurrent and consecutive reviews. When the staff reviews the project, they select comments from a comment book, mark up plan sets with the built-in document markup tool, and use email templates to communicate with project contacts. Our software helps you track reviews on multiple resubmissions, and when it's time to approve the permit, you can invoice before it is issued.
